Muscle and Tendon Care
The healthcare system is quick to throw injections at tendon pain. At best, research for this is mixed, and several studies looking at tendon pain have demonstrated that people tend to have worse pain and more limited function in the long term. On the other hand, a considerable amount of research has shown that care from a physical therapist can be quite helpful in managing pain and improving function without the potential negative side effects often seen with more invasive treatments. The important thing is finding a provider that understands how to effectively and appropriately stress and strengthen the muscle-tendon(s) that are giving you issues so that you can get through your day more easily.
