Manual Therapy

Because we go beyond "just exercise" – we aim to help you feel better, faster.

Manual interventions generally are used to address pain but may also affect how well you can recruit or engage musculature. Ultimately, much of the existing research points to exercise as a consistent means of managing your health, but for some people, hands-on (manual) interventions offer a lot of value to helping you feel and move better. As with virtually everything in medicine, there is some mixed evidence, but a great deal of literature has been published showing the benefits of manual therapy for things like neck pain, low back pain, carpal tunnel syndrome, ankle sprains, hip and knee osteoarthritis, plantarfasciitis, rotator cuff-related shoulder pain, and more. With the only board-certified Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists in the Western Tidewater and 1 of only 32 in the state of Virginia (as of the end of 2022), we're here and ready to help!
